Overview
The pyblade Command Line Interface: start projects, run the development server, generate files and manage translations.
PyBlade comes with a command line tool, pyblade, that starts projects, runs your development server and generates the files you would otherwise write by hand: templates, components, live components and your own commands.
The CLI is installed with PyBlade itself, there is nothing more to install:
pip install pybladepoetry add pybladeuv add pybladeChecking the version
pyblade -vUpdating PyBlade
pyblade upgradepyblade upgrade upgrades PyBlade with the package manager your project uses (uv, poetry, pipenv or pip), the one it finds from your lock file or from the active virtual environment. It tells you whether a newer version was installed.
Getting help
Run pyblade alone to list every command with a short description.
pybladeAdd --help to any command to see its arguments and options:
pyblade make:live --helpWhere commands run
Most commands look for your project's pyblade.toml starting from the current directory and going up, so they work from any folder of your project. Two things are read from it that matter to the commands:
[paths]says where templates, components and your own commands live.[stack]says which framework and package managers the project uses.
Commands of your framework
In a Django project, pyblade also lists Django's own management commands (migrate, test, createsuperuser...) and runs them for you, so you can use one tool for everything. These are Django's commands, not PyBlade's, and are documented in Django's documentation. This section only documents the commands PyBlade provides.
